Volunteers are wanted to take part in a 150 person strong human chain to be walked over by dogs.

The event, at the Essex Dog Display Team’s Brentwood training centre on March 2, will raise money for Sports Relief.

Chief dog trainer, Roy Dyer, said: “I need people to come along to bend over and out their bums in the air.

“For the dogs it is a very comfortable position to be to be standing on top of people. The dogs find this a very superior place to be and have great fun.

“They almost think: ‘I’m wiping my feet on these people’.”

The two dogs that will take part will leap between the humans lined up head to tail in a leapfrog fashion. They must do 20 consecutive backs before they can take a rest.

The team will in fact be aiming to beat its own record of 147 backs, set in Eastbourne three years ago.

The record-breaking attempt will begin at 12pm.

If you would like to take part, or donate sponsorship money, contact the training centre on 01277 375131 or email info@essexdogtrainingcentre.co.uk
