A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital with neck pain on Tuesday morning after a road traffic accident occurred in Hornchurch.
At approximately 9.13am, police were called to the scene on the Southend Arterial Road (A127), near Ardleigh Green Road.
A spokesman for the force said the incident was caused by a collision between a white DAF truck and a red Citroen estate car.
The roof of the car had to be cut off.
An ambulance crew treated the woman at the scene before taking her to Queen’s Hospital, in Rom Valley Way.
Hornchurch’s fire rescue unit attended the incident with another appliance and an applicance from the Harold Hill unit was also called out.
The road reopened at 10.37am.
A 41-year-old man has been stabbed at an address in Harold Hill.
