A woman has been subjected to a terrifying robbery in broad daylight.

Police were called to reports of a robbery in Taunton Road, Romford, at 2.33pm on Wednesday, August 16.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found the victim, a woman in her 20s, injured in the road.

A police spokesman said: “The victim was trying to sell her car at a pre-arranged meeting when the suspect got into the vehicle and drove off.

“The victim tried to stop the suspect by grabbing the door handle but she was dragged along the road.”

The woman was taken to an east London hospital with minor injuries.

“The suspect left in the vehicle, a silver Mercedes B class, in the direction of Noak Hill Road,” added the spokesman.

No arrests have been made and inquiries continue.
