Firefighters extinguished a blaze at an industrial estate in Rainham this morning after a warehouse generator caught fire.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to the scene in Coldharbour Lane, Rainham, just before 9am this morning.

Part of the internal casing of the generator was damaged by the fire.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said crews from Wennington, Barking and Dagenham worked to get the blaze under control by 10.40am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
