Is it a duck, is it a goose? No, it’s an army of frogs.
A man in his 70s was amazed after taking a leisurely stroll with his daughter in Ingrebourne Country Park, Hornchurch, to discover an “unusual noise” that sounded like “hundreds of ducks or geese chattering away.”
But when Barry Strange and Tracy Green looked closer, and the noise was getting louder, they noticed “small bird-like creatures jumping about in the swampy part of the lake.”
They then realised the sound was that of “hundreds of frogs croaking in unison.”
Barry said: “I am over 70 and have not heard the like in my lifetime. The park is one of the many wonders of Havering with views all over the surrounding areas. It is well worth a visit, especially on a bright clear day and it links to Hornchurch Country Park, another wonder of the borough.”
