A pair of police officers went to the rescue of a woman was stranded in Upminster.
The woman’s mobility scooter had broken down, leaving her with no way of getting home.
PCSOs Rian Black and Wupundu Simpungwe, from Upminster Safer Neighbourhoods Team, were patrolling the ward when they spotted her in distress – and pushed her back to her house, ensuring she was safe and well before resuming their duties.
PCSO Simungwe said: “You can never tell what is going to happen whilst out on patrol. I was just glad we were in a position to help a vulnerable member of our ward.”
A man was robbed of his phone, money and ordered to leave a train at Upminster station in a “terrifying ordeal”, transport police said.
