The funeral of Towie star Peri Sinclair’s mother took place today after she died aged 49 in a tragic accident.
Mandy Fowell was crushed when a tree was blown down in a storm onto a barn, an old brick outhouse, at her country home in Ongar Road, Abridge.
Ms Sinclair, 22, has displayed a memorial to her mother in the window of Bizara, the greetings card store in Crown Street, Brentwood, that she runs and was featured in the series.
In the elaborate memorial is a large portrait of Ms Fowell with the word “unique” on it.
Roses and cards surround the portrait.
One card reads: “In lovely memory of our beautiful Mandy Fowell. Forever in our hearts 1965-2014.”
A woman working in opposite shop Inula Beauty said: “It was really tragic. She was a lovely lady and a hard worker. She has a passion for her business.
“As soon as we heard it we all felt devastated, it’s not something you expect to happen.”
Ms Fowell’s partner discovered her at the time of the accident on February 7.
Emergency services were called shortly after 4pm and initially treated her for lower leg injuries but she developed breathing difficulties and went into cardiac arrest at the scene.
She went to Whipps Cross University Hospital by ambulance.
Essex Police also attended the scene.
A spokesman said: “Officers attended, but there were no suspicious circumstances and it appears to be a case of a tragic accident, possibly due to adverse weather or the building quality.”
A statement from the Crown Street traders said it was a tragedy and added: “Ever since Mandy came here with the shop, about two years ago, she was totally supportive of Crown Street and 100 per cent behind anything we did to promote the street.”
