Three people have been taken to hospital following a traffic accident in Wennington in the early hours of the morning.

Wennington fire crew and five ambulance crews were sent after being called at around 12.20am to a collision between a van and a truck in New Road, near Willows Farm.

Five people were treated at the scene, and three were taken to Queen’s Hospital in Rom Valley Way, Romford.

A 21-year-old male was treated for head injuries, a 33-year old male was treated for leg pain and a 24-year-old woman was treated for neck and back pain.

New Road was closed in both directions for most of the morning between the B1335 Sandy Lane junction and the B1335 Wennington Road junction, but has now reopened.
