TfL announces series of weekend closures between Shenfield and Stratford as TfL prepares for Crossrail

There will be no TfL Rail services this weekend as engineers continue carrying out track and station improvement works to prepare the line for Crossrail.

Rail replacement buses will instead be operating between Shenfield and Stratford.

These services will also call at Newbury Park, to provide a connection to the Central line, but will not stop at Maryland.

Next weekend (Oct 28/29) there will be disrupted services on Saturday, and on Sunday the stretch of line between Liverpool Street and Ilford will be closed, with customers advised to use local bus routes instead.

On the first weekend in November (Nov 4/5) the entire line will once again be down, with rail replacement bus services operating.

Then, on the weekend of November 18/19, there will be no service between Liverpool Street and Romford. Rail replacement buses will call at all affected stations.

Finally, on each Saturday from November 25 to December 16 there will be no service between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield. Rail replacement buses will call at all affected stations.

As part of its railway upgrade programme, Network Rail will also be rebuilding the train sidings at Gidea Park where TfL Rail trains are stabled. Work here will be taking place from November 25 until February 2018.
