A kind-hearted six-year-old girl from Rush Green is having her hair cut off this week to raise money for a children’s charity.
Natasha Bennett, of Oldchurch Gardens, will sacrifice her long locks on Wednesday morning in aid of the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who lose their hair through cancer.
Proud grandmother Jackie Bennett, 58, will host the event at her flat in Fambridge Court, Marks Road, Romford.
She said: “I think Natasha’s quite excited, she’s never really had her hair cut before.
“When she became five she saw this charity somewhere, I think in her mum’s magazines, and started saying she wanted to get her hair cut and give it to the charity.
“We left it a year because obviously being a child, we didn’t know whether she was going to change her mind!”
Natasha’s hair will be cut to shoulder-length, so she can still put it in a ponytail.
Jackie added: “Her parents are extremely proud of her and she’s very shy so it surprised me that she could do this sort of thing.
“For such a young child to want to do something, to have those sort of feelings for other children, is something to be proud of.”
