People across London will pay their respects to members of the Armed Forces who died while in the line of duty in the First and Second World Wars.

Annual tributes are planned in the capital on Remembrance Sunday, which this year falls on November 11, to commemorate the occasion. Here is a look at this weekend’s main events in the centre of town.

Festival of Remembrance: Two concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, organised by the Royal British Legion, will pay tribute to the war dead. It will feature performances from military bands and singers. The matinee concert starts at 2pm and the Royal Family will attend the evening service. For more information or to book tickets for the event, phone the box office on 0845 401 5034.

Remembrance Sunday Cenotaph Parade: Members of the Royal Family will be joined by current and ex-servicemen from 9.20am to march down Whitehall before reaching the Cenotaph.

Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph: A wreath laying ceremony will take place in front of well-wishers followed by a two-minute silence at 11am. The Royal Family, Prime Minister David Cameron, and various dignitaries will attend.

RAF Museum: A series of family-oriented activities will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 1pm and from 2pm to 4pm. Children will be able decorate a petal to add to their poppy collage. The museum is based in Grahame Park Way, Colindale. For more information contact 020 8358 4896.

Remembrance Sunday service at St Paul’s Cathedral: This service will be attended by the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress, Sheriffs and Ladies, and Aldermen, and will include a two-minute silence at 11am. Music, sung by the Cathedral Choir, includes Greater Love by Ireland and The Souls of the Righteous by Marchant. All are welcome.
