Post will be delivered across Havering this Sunday as part of a Royal Mail pilot project.

Nearby delivery offices in Grays, Ilford and Dagenham will be among 100 nationwide to open specially for the trial, which is aimed at making things easier for online shoppers.

Addresses within the M25 will receive parcels and delivery offices will open between 12pm-4pm.

Nick Landon, managing director of Royal Mail parcels, said: “We are continuing to be more customer responsive and provide more options for people to receive items they have ordered online.

“I am delighted to pilot Sunday afternoon opening at around 100 of our delivery offices across the UK with the highest parcel volumes, and Sunday deliveries to addresses within the M25 motorway.”

Royal Mail has around 1,400 delivery offices nationwide.
