Pupils were invited to express their creativity by painting to the sound of music.
Year 7 students at Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls, in Brentwood Road, Romford, listened to three contrasting pieces while painting in the style of artist Frank Biffa, who exhibited work at the school’s art gallery.
They listened to Mozart’s Turkish March, Pachelbel’s Canon and Erik Satie’s Gnossienne number one, two and three.
Curator Lisa Walker said: “The work of Frank Briffa is inspired by whole songs or a few bars of a piece of music.
“The aim of the exercise was to look at art through other subjects. The same way colours tones and textures are used in paintings, they are also used in music.”
