Hundreds of military vehicles, planes and displays were admired by thousands of visitors to the Essex HMVA Military and Flying Machines Show, this weekend.

The two day show, held at Damyns Hall Aerdrome, included a tank and armoured vehicle parade, living history shows and full flying displays.

Among the attractions on the day were more than 300 vehicles as well as a Huey helicopter, a P-51 Mustang and a Dakota aeroplane.

Colin Tebb, show manager, said: “The show went extremely well. The weather was kind to us, attendance was quite possibly the best we have ever had and we had lots of good comments.”

This year’s show had a number of exhibitions and events to commemorating both the 100th anniversary of Britian joining the First World War and the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Colin said: “There was a lot of interest. The two events combined have certainly promoted interest.”

The show also had plenty of activities aimed at children including a vintage fairground, model making and live wartime entertainment.

On top this veterans were on hand to speak to visitors about their wartime experiences.
