Nightclub Liquid and Envy will be known as Fiction from the end of this month.
The Luminar Group, operators of the Romford nightlife spots, are creating 30 jobs and investing £350,000 in a refurbishment scheme that will see the club relaunched with a VIP event on the weekend of October 25.
Work has begun at the former cinema, in South Street, and general manager James Hall says the new name is in keeping with the building’s past.
“This is a great building with a strong heritage and we wanted to come up with a new name that had some relevance to its past”, he said.
“The investment will maintain all of the art deco features and compliment them with incredible lighting and video mapping making the very best of an amazing venue.”
The club are promising a number of “top notch” events following Fiction’s relaunch.
