There’s more than just coffee to coffee shops these days – there are giraffes, too.
Romford’s newest barista sold his unusual long-necked special at the recently opened Kenya Coffee House this week.
The customer was none other than the town’s MP Andrew Rosindell.
Unannounced, Mr Rosindell dropped in on Monday to welcome owner Joash Robinson Wena to North Street.
“As I am so passionate about the Commonwealth, I visited the new owner as a surprise to congratulate him and welcome the new coffee shop to my constituency,” he said. “He hopes this will be the first of a new chain, starting in Romford.
“He was thrilled that the local MP had just dropped in, and he presented me with a giraffe from Kenya, which I paid for.
“All money made by selling the giraffes goes straight to the village people in Kenya who make them, with no profit to the Coffee House.”
Mr Rosindell added: “The giraffe is my favourite wild animal.”
