Flags were waving at the weekend as thousands celebrated Wednesday’s St George’s Day early.
Romford Market, in Market Place, Romford, was filled with festivities throughout the day.
There was a host of entertainment including performances from The Royal British Legion Band & Corps of Drums Romford and The Hornchurch Drum & Trumpet Corps.
Catherine Owen, of Atlanta Boulevard, Romford, said: “It was a really lovely day, the weather was gorgeous and it was great to see the market so lively and full of kids and families.”
Romford’s Town Crier, Tony Appleton, made an appearance and the circus came to town too with stilt walkers, balloon modellers, jugglers and magicians entertaining the crowds.
There were also inflatable rides a climbing wall and a bucking bronco.
Romford MP Andrew Rosindell even arrived with his Staffordshire bull terrier, Buster, who supported the St George’s Cross.
Mr Rosindell said: “Buster had a great time celebrating St George’s Day and he wore the flag with great bulldog spirit.”
