A new bereavement service is aiming to bring people who have lost loved ones together for support.
Monthly coffee mornings will he held at the Romford YMCA in Rush Green Road on the first Wednesday of every month.
The project was started by Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, alongside Macmillan Cancer Care and the YMCA.
Organiser Heather Wright, Macmillan palliative care team leader, said: “Bereavement is a very difficult time for anyone and having somewhere to go, talk about what you are going through, or just to feel supported and see some friendly faces is so important and will make such a difference to people.”
Anyone is welcome to attend the weekly coffee mornings from 10-12pm. The first session will be on January 8.
Heather will be running the mornings with Phil Wright and Dave Chuck - chaplains from Queen’s Hospital and the YMCA.
