An Arsenal fan from Romford was rushed to hospital after being hit over the head with a stool by Italian football hooligans.
Tim Garwood, 48, was in pie and mash shop Piebury Corner in Islington before his team’s match with Napoli on Tuesday (October 1) when violence erupted.
Mr Garwood, who was attending the game with his son Will and business partner Richard Morey, had to have 16 stiches and a brain scan after being taken to hospital.
Mr Morey said on Twitter: “Piebury Corner attacked by scum Napoli fans. My oldest mate Tim was in hospital with stitches to a bad head wound.”
Eyewitnesses say up to 100 Napoli fans were involved and the attack was completely unprovoked.
Mr Garwood was released from hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
