A 21-year-old man crashed into the barrier on the A12 eastbound on Monday, May 14.

A Romford motorcyclist has died after a crash on the A12.

A 21-year-old man crashed into the barrier on the A12 eastbound, about one mile west of the Green Man Interchange near Wanstead at around 12.10am on Monday, May 14.

He was taken to hospital where he died.

The victim is believed to be an Italian national who had been living in Romford.

His next of kin have been informed.

The Met Police said that a number of vehicles stopped at the scene, but at this early stage it is not thought that any other vehicle was involved.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.
