A Romford barber has beaten off sharp competition by being shortlisted for the coveted South East Best Wet Shaving Barber regional title.
Shakhrukh Raupov, 31, from Euclase Barbers in South Street, must win the regional title in February before going on to the national final later in 2014.
On his achievement, Mr Raupov, who has been barbering for nearly two decades, said: “I’m looking forward to competing against the best barbers in Britain and hopefully coming out on top.
“I started barbering aged 11, when I could barely hold scissors in my hands.
“Barbering is the only thing I’m good at - it’s part of my life and is what I love doing the most.”
The winner of the national tournament - where seven shaving experts will compete in a boxing-style ring - will collect an award and £3,000 worth of Bluebeards Revenge shaving products.
Britain’s best shaver will also star in a shaving advert.
