Rainham mum to host dance-a-thon fundraiser for charity supporting her child

A mum will hold a two hour dance-a-thon to raise funds for a charity that is helping her 3-year-old son beat his communication problems.

Rainham mum Samantha McArdle, 30, is hosting the exhausting event on March 15 to raise money for Hornchurch children’s charity First Step.

Her son Riley Jarvis, 3, has developmental delays that have slowed his language acquisition and made it hard for him to play with others, the frustration this causes him affects his behaviour.

He began going to First Step in January and since his communication and behaviour has improved vastly.

Samantha, of Mygrove Gardens, said: “With him going to their classes his speech is really coming on. Before he had about 20 words now he has about 60 and his behaviour is a lot better in such a short space of time.”

She is hosting the event at David Lloyd, Gidea Park, where she works as a studio co-ordinator.

The dancing starts at 7pm and tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for under 12’s with all profits going to First Step.
