Hundreds of mums plumped for the Queen’s as their favourite theatre in Greater London after weeks of voting in an annual poll organised by parenting website netmums.com.

Netmums Havering editor Nicky Jones presented the award to the Hornchurch theatre’s administrative director, Thom Stanbury.

She said: “With a packed programme of shows for children, the Queen’s Theatre is a great place for family entertainment. We feel that this award is extra special as it is a “mums’ choice” award and acknowledges what a great job your theatre does.”

Thom said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to win this coveted award. 2013 was the start of a renewed focus by the Queen’s Theatre on family audiences. We are now offering something for all ages.”
