Upminster primary school recognises students’ achievements in annual award ceremony

An Upminster primary school took advantage of the hot weather to hold their biggest prize giving event yet on the school’s field in a special marquee.

Oakfields Montessori School, in Harwood Hall Lane held their biggest prize giving event yet, with more than 400 people including students, staff, family and friends attending the event on Saturday, July 14.

Katrina Caroll head teacher at the school said: “Every Oakfields child has made our staff very proud this year.

“They really are amazing.”

Individuals were recognised for their efforts throughout the year, with prizes awarded for achievements in various subjects including English and Maths.

“It was just a really nice day, the weather was perfect,” said Stephanie Green, marketing manager at the school.

“[The event] boosts the children’s confidence and it sets a great precedence for them going into the next year.

“It’s a special moment for them to share with family and friends.”
