Police have released the post-mortem results of the two people tragically killed in a horror crash in Chadwell Heath.

Havering College student Lauren Brown, 16, died in hospital of head injuries sustained when she was hit by a grey Ford Transit van, as she walked along Crow Lane, at around 9.50pm, on Friday, June 28.

The driver, granddad Stephen Tilbury, 51, died at the scene of multiple injuries. He collided with a tree after striking Lauren.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

Both next of kin have been informed and formal identifications have taken place.

Det Sgt Helen Lambert, from the road death investigation unit, based at Chadwell Heath, said: “I am continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of this collision and saw what happened to speak to police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 020 8597 4874 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
