Havering tenants and leaseholders can now use a smartphone app to send details of repairs that are needed for the attention of the council’s housing centre.

To send a link to this page to a friend, you must be logged in.

The My Landlord mobile phone app allows residents to take a picture of a things like faulty windows and broken boilers.

A customer service advisor will then update and advise the resident, via their mobile about if, or when, the repair can be fixed or when they can expect a contractor to visit.

This new service is part of, and has been launched alongside, a revamped Looking Local digital service, where council tenants and leaseholders can look up all the housing information they need through their TV or smart mobile phone.

Looking Local is available through Sky, Virgin Media and Nintendo Wii.

The My Landlord app is available to iPhone or Android smartphone users.

Cllr Lesley Kelly, cabinet member for Housing said: “This is an innovative service which will hopefully make reporting a repair far easier for residents.

“Looking Local has been incredibly popular and this new addition makes it even more convenient.”

The app can be downloaded by searching for “My Landlord” on Google Play or iTunes, or for more information about Looking Local visit www.lookinglocal.gov.uk.
