The Conservative cabinet member for housing Cllr Lesley Kelly received just 854 votes as the RA swept up in the ward.

Cllr Brian Eagling, Darren Wise and Alexander Donald received 2,736, 2,294 and 2,221 votes respectively and increased the RAs presence in the ward from just one councillor previously.

Cllr Eagling said: “We had such a big majority, it just shows you what you put into anything you gain, gain, gain. I am delighted for all the residents of Harold Wood.”

Mr Donald said he was “chuffed that all three” had got in and Mr Wise added that it was an “excellent result.”

The turnout in the ward was 45.7 per cent.
