Wanted: Police search for man in connection with North Ockendon theft and assault

Police officers are looking for a man in connection with a robbery and assault that involved the thief punching a police officer to escape custody in North Ockendon.

Jay Emery, 22, from South Ockendon is wanted by police in connection to an incident that took place on Sunday, February 4.

It was reported to police that a moped bike was stolen outside the Dog and Partridge pub in High Road at 6.10pm.

Three days later the police detained a man in Araglen Avenue, South Ockendon, who then punched an officer in the face and ran off.

Mr Emery is described as being 5ft 9ins, of a slim build and he has a large scar on his wrists.

He also has links to Grays.
