Police are warning Hackney residents to take extra care against bogus callers

Witnesses to an assault in a Brentwood pub which left a man unconscious are being urged to come forward by Essex Police.

At approximately 12.30am on October 26, a 31-year-old man in the Slug and Lettuce pub was approached and allegedly punched in the head by another man.

The victim was rendered unconscious and suffered a broken leg and nose and swelling to his face.

The incident is believed to have occurred at the front of the High Street site, near to the doors and booths.

Witnesses with new information and those who have not yet come forward are urged to contact Det Con Nicola Hudson at Loughton Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
