Police are appealing for the public’s help in finding a vulnerable pensioner from Rush Green.

Leslie Coates, 89, was last seen at his home in Eastbrook Drive at around 6.30pm on Wednesday but he left without telling anyone where he was going and has not returned.

Officers and his family are concerned for his safety and wellbeing as Mr Coates suffers from dementia and does not have his medication with him.

There was one unconfirmed sighting of Mr Coates being on a bus heading towards Romford.

Mr Coates is described as white, round 5ft 8ins tall with a large build and thinning grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a green coloured bomber jacket, an orange t-shirt and grey trousers.

Mr Coates is believed to have not taken his wallet and so has no money or access to transport and has no phone.

Anyone who has seen Mr Coates or who knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact police in Barking and Dagenham on 101.
