Partner of killed Upminster motorcyclist: ‘Riding his bike was a way to get away - that’s why it was so dangerous’

The partner of a 32-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash has pleaded with bikers to drive safe after her 10-month-old daughter was left without a father.

Tony Jones, of St Ives Close, Harold Hill, was killed when his motorbike collided with a van in Upminster on Monday.

His partner of three years, Miledie Oulai, of Douglas Road, Romford, warned riders not to drive while under stress before it becomes “their last ride”.

She said: “Motorbikes are really dangerous. For Tony, riding his bike was calming and a way to get away. That’s why it was so dangerous.

“If you ever have got something wrong in your life and you want to get away, don’t ride your bike because you won’t be focused on the road.

“For most of them, something happens in their life and they take their bike and it becomes their last ride.”

The incident is still being investigated by the Serious Collision Unit in Chadwell Heath.
