A Post Office in Romford will close for 24 days while it is refurbished.
The North Street branch in Hainault Road will close on December 24 and reopen on January 17 as part of plans to modernise the network and extend the opening hours.
Post Office regional network manager Will Russell, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in this area of Romford and we are confident that the new branch will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the network to new style branches.”
During the closure, the nearest alternative branches will be the Victoria Road and Collier Row Road Post Offices.
Following the refurbishment, opening hours will be extended on a Saturday afternoon. The opening hours will be Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm.
The branch will also feature the car tax renewal service and two modern screened serving positions with larger glass.
