A Harold Wood mum is running a 13 mile half marathon on Sunday to raise money for a cause close to her heart.
Michelle Gubbings, 35, hopes to raise £500 for the National Autistic Society (NAS) in the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
Her challenge was inspired by her son Noah, seven, who was diagnosed with autism last year.
Michelle said: “When Noah was first diagnosed, I felt completely lost. I didn’t know much about the condition, how to deal with my son’s behaviour, and had nowhere to turn.”
Michelle added: “Although we’ve struggled to find appropriate support for Noah, his diagnosis has helped us to understand the way he is and to develop strategies to support him.
“Noah’s social skills are already showing signs of improvement and I hope this run will show him that anything is possible.”
