Residents can get the chance to win a family car as part of the St Francis Hospice Spring Raffle.
Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas helped to launch the raffle at the Romford Kia Showroom in London Road, Chadwell Heath last Friday.
Mr Cruddas said: “St Francis Hospice gets my vote.
“They do extraordinary work in my constituency and the surrounding area and if you can dip into your pocket a couple of times a year to support their raffles you will be helping a very worthy local cause.”
Top prize in the raffle is a brand new 5 door Kia Picanto supplied by Romford Kia. It’s an economical car with an average combined fuel consumption of 67mpg and because of its low emissions escapes road tax and the London congestion charge. It comes with a 7 year warranty from Kia named as the “Best Manufacturer” in the Which? magazine Best Car awards last year. There are also prizes for lucky runners up with second prize of £1,000, £500 for the third prize, a fourth prize of £250 and a fifth cash prize of £150.
Last year the two major raffles organised by the hospice raised more than £146,000 for patient care.
Tickets are just £1 each or £10 for a book and the deadline to purchase them is July 6th. The draw will take place on July 19th.
To buy or sell tickets contact the fundraising team on 01708 723593 or visit the website www.sfh.org.uk.
A man was robbed of his phone, money and ordered to leave a train at Upminster station in a “terrifying ordeal”, transport police said.
