Four young siblings, each holding a fully-dressed monkey, pose for the camera in Romford Market Place, in this picture taken in 1968.

The photo belongs to Lynn Neary, of St Marks Place, Dagenham, who is the second child from the right.

Lynn, now 50, said: “We lived in Dagenham, but often used to go [to Romford Market] to shop and for many years there was a photographer there who had these monkeys and would charge for pictures with them.

“I remember they were really friendly and it was exciting to hold them. Now it wouldn’t be allowed of course.”

To the left of Lynn, who was six at the time, are her older brother and sister Karen, eight, and Kevin, seven, and to her right is her little sister Tracy, four.
