The man had a stab wound to his chest and a slash wound to his arm.

A man was stabbed in the chest in an attack outside his home in Hornchurch last night.

Police were called just after midnight (October 21) to reports of a disturbance in Claremont Road, Hornchurch.

A man in his 30s was found inside his house with stab wounds to the chest and a slash wound to his arm.

He was taken to hospital where his injuries were described as not life-threatening or life-changing.

He is reported to have been attacked by two men as he was arriving home.

Officers from the East Area Command Unit are investigating and at this stage there have been no arrests.

Enquiries continue.
