Man hit by train at Goodmayes Station is in life-threatening condition

A man is in a life-threatening condition after being hit by a train in Goodmayes Station this morning (July 31).

Paramedics and police were called to Goodmayes Station on July 31 at around 6.54am to reports of a person being struck by a train.

There they found a man on the tracks whose injuries were consistent with somebody who had been hit by a train.

He has been taken to a hospital where he is being treated for his injuries which have been deemed life-changing.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “The incident is being investigated but is not being treated as suspicious.

“BTP officers are currently conducting inquiries to identify and inform the next of kin.

“Its requested that any information about the incident is passed on to the BTP by contacting 0800405040 and quoting Log 70 of today.”

Goodmayes Station has now fully reopened and emergency services have now left.

Disruption continues on the Greater Anglia and Tfl Rail services passing through at Goodmayes.
