Man charged with murder of Rainham woman

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 47-year-old woman yesterday.

Essex Police have charged unemployed Florin Ion, 31, from Birmingham, and he is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates Court, today, Saturday, April 21.

Police received reports yesterday at 8.30am that a 47-year-old woman, from Rainham, had been assaulted near the A1306 Arterial Road.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who was seriously injured and despite efforts by paramedics, she died a short time later.
