Man arrested at Romford station after an off-duty police officer is assaulted

Emergency services were called to Romford station after an off-duty officer was attacked.

The assault happened just after midday earlier this afternoon with police called at 12.10pm.

Eyewitnesses describe a man being held down by officers on the sloped entrance to the station.

Both the off-duty officer and the man arrested have been taken to hospital by paramdeics.
