The local government worker, from Dunmow, Essex, joined the scheme after a hospice ambassador approached her in Sainsbury’s, Brentwood, over the summer.

Jane, 50, also supports the hospice by regularly visiting its charity shop in Brentwood High Street.

“The money is very much needed at the moment and will help solve a problem,” she said.

You can sign up to the lottery by visiting www.sfh.org.uk or calling 01708 771433. One-off tickets and gift vouchers are also available at the hospice shops across Havering and Brentwood.
