Work to improve facilities at Saint Francis Hospice is now underway
The work is being carried out after a £115,628 grant from the Department of Health to enhance the care provision for patients, families and carers.
The improvements will include the creation of a dedicated treatment room where dressings and items to support the patients will be stored.
It is expected to be complete by the end of October.
Pam Court, chief executive at the hospice, said: “We are pleased to have this one-off grant and to have started the work.
“As a result we are able to make changes to better meet the needs of the people we support as demand for hospice care increases.”
