Fast foodies are not going to be lovin’ it as it has been confirmed that a branch of McDonald’s will be closing its doors for good.

Although the date has not been set, McDonald’s in High Street, Hornchurch, is said to be closing at the beginning of July.

A letter sent to staff last month which has been seen by the Recorder, said: “The company is currently working to establish a business environment that provides a platform for growth by refocusing on delivering a better experience to our customers.

“Part of this refocusing has been the proposed decision to close Hornchurch.

“This closure will result in employees being deployed to local restaurants.

“Due to the location of the restaurant, we will hopefully be able to relocate all employees and do not at this stage, believe we will need to consider making your position redundant.”

The closest branch of the multi-billion dollar company will be in Romford once it closes.
