A Hornchurch man has died after the car he was driving crashed into an industrial unit in Basildon on Friday.

The victim, who was in his 50s, is thought to have fallen ill at the wheel of his blue Vauxhall Astra moments before the collision, Essex Police said.

He was declared dead at the scene, in Fenton Way, by ambualnce crews.
