Jaspal Kaur from Jas’ Punjabi Kitchen in The Retailery, Market Place helped feed 100 homeless people with the help of the Sikh Empowerment Voluntary Association, SEVA on Tuesday, February 20.

Harriet Sharpe from Made Public said: “With help from our fab staff at The Retailery and Jas’ relatives, she packed the whopping amount of 100 containers with rice and her delicious chickpea curry, what a star.

“50 containers were given to The Salvation Army, and the rest were given out on the streets of Ilford and Romford, and it went down incredibly well.”

SEVA is committed to serving members of the community and supporting those in need, alongside empowering the local youth.

“Of course, Jas being the caring lady that she is, wanted to get involved, as feeding the homeless is something she has always wanted to do,” Harriet added.
