Plans for development of former petrol station in Harold Hill
14:42 07 July 2014
Approval is being sought for plans to demolish a former petrol station and build 12 houses and an apartment block.
The former Shell petrol station in Hilldene North is currently used by Bubble Bath Hand Car Wash. If planning approval is granted a range of houses, varying from three bedroom houses to one bedroom flats will be built on the site.
The proposal is part of the Living Ambitions Estate Regenerations Scheme for Harold Hill.
The applicant, Mr Angus Mossman, wishes to build 12 two-storey detached houses and nine self contained flats on the site, 73 per cent of which would be affordable.
Within the application Mr Mossman says that the plans feed into Havering Council’s Harold Hill Ambitions Programme, aimed at transforming the quality of life those living in the area.
Over the next 20 years the authority’s programme envisages the creation of a ground breaking new learning village, community facilities, a new library and housing.
Planning permission for the development of the site, which borders Hilldene Avenue, Hilldene Close and Bridgwater Close had been granted in 2013. This application varies the number and type if dwellings.
The application will be determined by Havering Council.
