Commuters are being advised not to travel on the C2C route on Tuesday morning in light of reports of strong 70mph winds set to hit the UK.
The strongest of the winds are expected in the early hours of the morning, and once the storm has passed test trains will be operated by Network Rail to assess any damage on the line.
A travel update will be provided at 7am for the service that covers London Fenchurch Street to Rainham.
A C2C spokesman said: “Once we are able to resume train services, they may still be subject to disruption, short notice alteration, or running at reduced speed.
“We are very sorry for the disruption this will cause passengers, but we hope that you understand that our priority has to be everyone’s safety.”
