One of the borough’s favourite pubs reopened last week following a £300,000 refurbishment.

The Goose, in South Street, Romford, held a special VIP launch event on Thursday with deputy mayor Cllr Linda Van Den Hende joining revellers for the celebration.

The popular watering hole has been completely modernised and now features a 350-capacity beer garden, which is the biggest in Essex, complete with pastel-coloured beach huts.

Customers can choose from an expanded drinks range and a have a bite to eat from the new menu.

Area manager, Colin Brown, said the works have transformed the venue into “an out and out day to night community pub”.

“We’re keeping our loyal clientele happy by reinvesting back into the pub, whilst creating the ideal venue for breakfast, lunch, evening meals and party nights.”
