Half the people in Havering who identify as heterosexual have had a same-sex experience, a survey says – that’s more than anywhere else in the capital.

The Time Out London sex survey polled 10,000 readers of the magazine to find out the details of their sex lives – and Havering “came out” with some surprising results.

As well as topping the same-sex list with 50 per cent, Havering is also London’s most contented borough, with 92 per cent of respondents saying they were satisfied with their sex lives.

The magazine’s Caroline McGinn said: “One of the great things about so many Londoners having shared their stories and experiences with us is that we had a large enough sample group to compare the sex lives of different boroughs.”

But it’s not all good news.

“Looking at our ‘heat maps’,” Caroline added, “it seems like the closer you live to Essex the more likely it is that your partner is cheating on you.”
