Havering College welcomed back 13 ex-pupils to inspire those currently on roll.

Six special constables with the Met Police, two firefighters, an ambulance worker, a prison officer, a marine, a police community support officer (PCSO) and a CCTV operator made up the cohort.

All had completed the Hornchurch college’s BTEC courses in public services and returned to speak to the Quarles Campus during a careers day on Thursday, February 7.

Special constable Nichola Fell, a former pupil of Redden Court School in Harold Wood, said: “The best bit as a Special is getting back to the station at the end of the day, looking around at your colleagues and realising that everyone has done a good job.

“I learnt lessons at Havering College that will be with me always.”

PCSO Gemma Andrews said: “As a PCSO you are working more within the community and helping people, which is what I like to do.”
