Havering residents won some festive prizes in a Christmas in Romford competition.

Almost 1,500 people entered the Havering Council competition year, and the prizes were presented last week by Cllr Robert Benham, cabinet member for community empowerment.

Cllr Benham said: “This competition is a great way to celebrate Christmas and highlight just what a terrific place Romford is.”

Prizes awarded included a festive family fun prize package at The Brewery, won by Jacky Larkin, which includes family passes for four to the Vue cinema, to Namco Funscape for bowling, and a meal for four at Frankie and Benny’s.

Jacky said: “It has made mine and my family’s Christmas. I can’t wait to spend the vouchers in the New Year,” she added.

The Christmas in Romford magazine is part of the annual Shop Romford campaign, which promotes Romford Town Centre.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.

Who wouldn’t love the chance to go on a shopping spree. Imagine being able to walk into a shop and choose whatever your heart desires without having to worry about how much it costs.
